In order to better meet the needs of our expanding client group the new year of 2011 brings the much anticipated relocation and renaming of the St John of God Hospital Murdoch, Fremantle Counselling Centre.
The new premises are located, just around the corner, at 60-62 Pakenham Street, Fremantle. The building is named Ferns House after the diocese in Ireland, the Sisters of St John of God came from.
The service will be closed, as usual over the Christmas/New Year period and will open on 10 January. An open day, in March 2011, will celebrate the new premises.
Over the seven years of operation the Fremantle Counselling Centre has worked seen 2,500 clients from the south metropolitan area.
We have always maintained a close relationship with The University of Notre Dame and look forward to continuing this relationship in 2011. Counselling student placement and social justice hours for medical students will be welcome at Ferns House.
